This is my Story

I was born and brought up on the family croft above Drumnadrochit, 3 miles from Loch Ness.

Drawing from an early age, much of my time was spent with pen and paper in hand, sitting doodling in front of the raeburn or wandering the fields and woods around the croft. I feel lucky to have spent the majority of my life surrounded by animals: cats, working collies, sheep, cows, hens, ducks, a goat and a donkey, then there’s the hares, pheasants, roe deer, red kites, buzzards, crows and all the other birds I see daily.

Attending Art School, specialising in Design and Craft, and then Teacher Training College in the early 1990s, I went on to teach Art and Design for 23 years. Medically retired in 2016 I was given the opportunity to revisit my love of art and develop my own style. Hugely proud of my Highland roots and heritage my art work and graphic illustrations are undoubtedly inspired by both the local flora and fauna. Introducing a unique celtic twist to my work appeals to my creative nature.
